Singer-songwriter Ross Ryan appeared at a rally in Leavenworth, Kansas - Ryan's birthplace - to support US presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama.
Adding his name to a list of singer/writers such as Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Barry Manilow, Ryan told the wheat dependant crowd that as a native son of the traditionally Republican voting state of Kansas, he was there to help Obama capture the state's 6 Electoral College votes.
"I stand here tonight" said Ryan, "in the city of my birth; in the land of Dorothy and Superboy's Smallville, to remind the citizens of Leavenworth that not only is this the most important election since the ascension of Lincoln, but crucially, that I am about to release the most difficult compilation of my career". |
