And hey - we're even flogging t-shirts!

Dateline: November 2003 - Easter Island

How could this have happened?.

Here it is - the moment all of us at Coathanger have been focused on for all these years - and where do I find myself? On Easter Island supervising the setup of one of our t-shirt manufacturing sweatshops. Can you believe that?

All those loyal months. All the stress. The hours spent hanging around departure lounges. Hell, I should be - right now - in beautiful downtown Glen Iris with a glass of Champagne in one hand and a fist full of dollars in the other. I'm missing all the excitement; the glamour; all the the fun! Fun? Ha! Phooey I say!

But putting all that aside ...the good news is that the new Ross Ryan album 'One Person Queue' is done and it's out there. No we really mean it this time.

Be assured that Ross doesn't actually think he finished the album. He just stopped working on it. Apparently there's a difference. Whatever. From Coathanger's point of view of course, we're just pleased as punch that we finally have something new and something WE OWN that we can flog world-wide.

Getting close Easter Island style.

One Person Queue

Mainly because I've been bonding with the local islander staff, I unfortunately haven't yet had the opportunity to actually listen to the new album.

But when you think about it, considering its already mythical status, whether it's any good or not is almost irrelevant. It's like the stone heads. That they exist at all should be enough.

So much for the review.

In the next few weeks we hope to present a slightly more comprehensive overview of 1PQ and background to its tumultuous history. Check www.rossryan.com every so often and see what our dynamic web team comes up with.

Anyway, by now you're probably eager to order your very own copy of 1PQ - a wise decision if ever there was one.

'Love Is In The Air' - ABC TV - Nov 9

I know it's a tricky choice - but at 7:30pm Sunday November 9 - the final episode of ABC TV's 'Love Is In The Air" goes to air. During this episode - entitled 'Australian Anthems' - 'I Am Pegasus' is featured and as well as a recent interview with Ross, should include some rare RR footage.

Perfect timing really.

The tricky bit is that the program is, of course, up against Channel 10's 'Australian Idol'.

1PQ Tour 2003

The first 1PQ album launch at Armadillo Blues in Melbourne was apparently a resounding success. The place was overflowing with celebrities and fans and a splendid time was had by one and all - excluding, of course, those of us here on Easter Island.

The next big launch date that I also won't be attending is in Brisbane on Saturday November 15 at the Judith Wright Centre followed on Sunday December 14 by another Melbourne show at the Palace Hotel in Camberwell.

Amongst all of this is an appearance at the Troubadour weekend November 16 and the debut, November 28, 29 in Bairnsdale Victoria of 'Idol & Idle' - Ross's selfless attempt to help his friend Mark Holden explain to the Australian public that despite everything, Mark's a warm, sensitive, misunderstood guy, Anyway, that's the brief.

Grateful island workers

As I possibly may have mentioned earlier, I'm presently stationed here on Easter Island setting up our new state-of-the-art T-shirt manufacturing facilities.

To coincide with the release of Ross's 'One Person Queue' album, Coathanger's first offering is the classic   ' I Remember Ross E. Ryan' T-shirt

Out of production for more than two decades, this highly coveted garment is available in either glorious Retro Punk B&W or as a personality embodied hand painted work of art from the well meaning craft-persons of Coathanger.

One Person Yuletide & Immortality

As some of you may recall, for a number of years we've been offering a free name credit on the new album to anyone who took the time to contact us here at Coathanger. We called it 'Immortality' and if you're on our mailing list you made it. Well done.
Then, with a release date at hand, our marketing team came up with an 11th hour flash of brilliance - the album would make the perfect Christmas gift! Thus we encouraged you to also send in the names of all your friends and family.

Well the response was overwhelming. We were flooded with emails from people who even included their pets' names! We couldn't believe our luck!

Hence 'The Great List of the Immortal' expanded and is indeed part of the 1PQ CD package. We made every effort to make the list accurate but should there be any errors feel free to let us know. You can find the list online here:

Well folks, that brings us to the end of this even more verbose than usual Special 1PQ Spam Newsletter.

A new Ross Ryan album is now out amongst us. Imagine that.
You know ... it's almost kind of like one of those 'real' moments you read about people having.

Enjoy the album.

Cheers
