Though seemingly unfazed by Mongolian detention, balmy Greek nights, Ukrainian cab drivers and the CIA - our sensitive, globally roamed Connie continues her Coathanger journey - ever fueled by that still inexplicable yearning for the tranquility, solitude and peace of mind, only serious money and influence can bring. |

Presently I'm in Scotland leading an official delegation to Coathanger's sister city of Glen Iris - and let me tell you .. these people didn't invent scotch for nothing! You can't understand a damn thing they're saying but boy do they know how to party! |

I've also taken this opportunity to explore the history and romance of my own latent Celtic heritage. This has included a magical and emotional visit, with my lawyers, to my lost ancestral home, Person Castle, in Mull of Loch Glen Iris. How does 'Baroness Person' sound? But to matters at hand. |

| Ross Ryan and Friends to record live album! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() |
Those of you with mathematical leanings will be the first to agree that Ross tends to have these decade long gaps between studio albums. With this in mind, we are pleased to report that a loose configuration of musician friends are joining Ross to record a live album, over four Fridays in May, at Hardimans Cafe Bar Restaurant in Kensington, Melbourne. |

This also means we may have a new RR CD out before Christmas 2010. |

Then of course there'll be the Band 3146 players - Peter Robertson and Kenneth Stephenson (good Scottish lads); Broc Of Connor, colleens Ms Eastaugh and Jo Kelly (on behalf of the Irish); plus Spectrum's Mr Putt, Cath Cavolo, Roy The Z, possibly the extremely stressed Mr Holden (another Irishman) and whoever else happens to drop by. Basically we're having a private music party and you're all invited! Come along. Give us your input. Suggest songs. Listen to how they evolve (or not) over the month. Applaud a lot. Be part of the result! |

| Ross West Australian June solo tour | ||||||||||||||||||||||
|
For the first time in nearly 20 years, Ross Ryan is returning, this June, to his home state of WA for a series of gigs in Fremantle, Perth, some place called Quindanning and even his home town of Albany! As an historical note, Ross will be performing at the Albany Town Hall - a stage he has graced many times in his youth. First as lead (Prof. Harold Hill) in the high school musical "The Music Man" and later as bass player in the band 'Saffron' for the regional final of Hoadley's Battle of the Bands. Check out the gig guide then come along and make the guy feel welcome! See: GIG GUIDE |

| Ryan / Ashdown plan for August east coast tour | ||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() |
After the success of their lightning NSW tour last year, Ross and Doug Ashdown have been keen to get together to discuss Bob Dylan's recent autobiography and whilst they're at it, to do a few gigs. As we speak, Doug's manager Rob Hall is putting together a number of dates in August which will theoretically take the Zimmed Out Duo as far north as Queensland's nether regions. As more details come to hand we'll certainly be letting you know. |

Well my dears, if I'm not mistaken, I think I hear the pipes a-calling. I'm guest of honor tonight at the Glen Iris Caber & Haggis Society dinner and I have an appointment to have my sporran brushed. Hopefully I'll be back in Glen Iris Oz for the live album recordings during Ross's Hardimans season. It should be quite a month! |
