About five years ago, Ross concluded that he needed to occasionally leave his postcode and to do some 'networking'. You know, make a few contacts, wave the flag, recharge the batteries ... that kind of thing.

Sally

Of course nothing came of it, but in the process he was lucky enough to accidentally stumble across actress/writer/producer/director/web designer/renaissance woman/etc, Sally McLean. Arguably they met online - which isn't as 'Adult Matchmaker' as it sounds.

Anyway, they ended up having coffee; discussed how important 'networking' was; exchanged CVs and respective master plans and agreed they would catch up at some later date and compare notes.

This of course didn't happen either.

Actually, they nearly saw each other again at the launch of Ross's 'One Person Queue' album in 2003 but unfortunately Sally's car broke down on the way to the gig and suddenly it was 2005 which was when Sally contacted Ross to get his permission/blessing to use the song 'I Am Pegasus' in a play she had written called 'Chasing Pegasus - a Play in 10 Chords'.

Now it's 2006 and Sally is staging 'Chasing Pegasus' as part of Melbourne's upcoming Fringe Festival (followed by a season down the coast in Mt Martha) and has invited Ross to make a brief musical cameo appearance during the show.

According to one of Sally's beautifully crafted show-off web sites:

'Chasing Pegasus' is a celebration of what makes us different, and through that discovery, a recognition of what makes us ultimately the same, focusing not on accepting our place in the world, but rather on the continuing quest of humankind to become more than the sum of our parts.

Which remarkably is exactly what the song 'I Am Pegasus' is about!!

A housewife, two teenagers, a school teacher, an ex-singer, a deaf girl, an accountant, a book shop owner and a shop girl. What do these people have in common? They are all members of the Serendipity Book Club and they are all about to embark on an unexpected journey ...

The Serendipity Book Shop is hosting their weekly Book Club meeting. Tonight they are discussing the bestseller, 'Chasing Pegasus'. There is an air of anticipation as they will also be meeting the book's author, the reclusive and mysterious Franklin Storey.

All begins relatively normally, but during the course of the evening, each member of the group begins to reveal their personal history and future dreams - caught in the spell of 'Chasing Pegasus'.

'Chasing Pegasus - a Play in 10 Chords' will be at the Gasworks Arts Park in Melbourne
Oct 3 -7 and at Mt Martha House, Mt Martha Oct 18-22.
