'The Difficult Third Compilation' - Out now!

Coathanger House - Glen Iris
November 2008

Nearly five months after its pre-release launch and two months ahead of its official post-release promotional campaign, Coathanger Productions, in conjunction with Aztec Music and EMI, is pleased to announce the actual release of the Ross Ryan album, 'The Difficult Third Compilation 1973 - 2008'.

The agonizingly selected 19 track CD draws on material from Ross's EMI catalogue through to 2003's 'One Person Queue' album and a new recording - the single 'Queensland'.

To coincide with the release of D3C, Coathanger's web development team along with our Leavenworth archiving division, have assembled a special multimedia feast of rare videos, mp3s and obscure Ryan memorabilia; plus Ross's track by track 'Difficult Cover Notes'.

This online collection will evolve over time as we add more material and Ross endlessly re-writes his notes. All contributions welcome.

STOP PRESS: Exclusive bonus 'Stuff' CD

In addition to 'The Difficult Third Compilation', Coathanger also announced the release of the Ross Ryan 'Stuff' album. Available exclusively through Coathanger Merchandising, 'Stuff' will be bundled with D3C as a free bonus companion CD.

At this stage, track details have not been confirmed but Coathanger spokesperson, Connie Person, said that the album would feature "live recordings, obscure singles, demos and material from as far back as Ross's high school debut album 'Christine' and the legendary 'Homemovies'".

"In all conscience", Ms Person stated, "even Coathanger would feel uncomfortable taking people's money for this album - but we are aware that there are Ryan fans out there who have, for some time, been clamoring for this historic material". And although admitting it would probably be easier to just ring them both and to send them the tracks, she added that 'Stuff' was a "very Coathanger" thing to do.
