The offices and boardrooms of Coathanger House have been abuzz since news circulated that a Mr Carter from EMI Records had rung our reception desk. In response to the numerous enquiries we get concerning the availability of Ross's past catalogue on CD, Coathanger - since about 1996 - has attempted to engage EMI's interest in the concept of making this possible. Obviously the lot of a Licensing Manager is a stressful one as most folks seem to only stay in the position for about 3 months or so. As you can imagine, this employment statistic has made it difficult for us to build a working relationship with Ross's former label. Lots of awaiting replies from people who don't work there any more. Hence the excitement that has gripped Coathanger. At first, our receptionist naturally assumed that the call was just some cruel, sicko prank - but soon Mr Carter was able to convince her that he had just taken up the position of EMI Licensing Manager and he figured he could get something happening for us, safely within the three month timeframe. More info as it comes to hand. |
