Family and friends of Melbourne based singer-songwriter Ross Ryan are agog following the admission, on Channel 9's Burke's Backyard, that Ross is an avid and enthusiastic gardener.

"Unfortunately, I'm still working on my new album, so I don't have the time to keep all the soil beds and plants up to date. Luckily my good friend Mark Holden is virtually semi-retired so he's taken over most of the day to day weeding and sowing."
